Family stories are the best, Barb. Some can't be repeated. Our family has always been full of boys until my younger son had wo daughters. My, how the stories changed.

Funny how people get side-tracked as they become obsessed with things more important to them at the time. Just one spag or 2 if you like.Charlotte, only (she)came (and)asked

Hello Barbara,
I love reading the stories about your family. I find people so doggone interesting. Some folks do get totally caught up in what they're doing and are oblivious to anything else. They are usually pretty darned intelligent it seems.
One of the neighbor kids in Hoonah used to run around outside in the buff. His parents thought nothing of it apparently. One time, one of the brothers was taking a leak in a puddle out front of their house- it was just a bigger target I suppose and no need to flush. Several years later, his brother was running around the house with a pair of long handled loppers, like for trimming bushes. Jan was afraid he might pull a Lorena Bobbit on himself. Apparently he didn't, because he's a father now. Thanks for sharing this gal.
Have a blessed evening.

LOL I appreciate you sharing your stories with me. Steven gets fixated on something and forgets everything around him. Thank you for the kind review.

Kids are individuals. My eldest when he was 8 would sit in front of the tv and zone out. The world could be being bombed and unless the tv went out he would not budge, My husband wanted him on ADD meds, I did not. My youngest on the other hand had trouble keeping his attention on anything for long. He got bored easy. I love them both, and as they got older they both mellowed out more. We are blessed with good kids. Love your stories. Karen

Children are definitely all born with individual personalities, no matter how much we expect them to be more or less the same. And that's a good example between Andrew and Steven, even repeated with your granddaughters, because nudity is one of those basic things that can still polarise us. I think the first sentence of your last paragraph needs some editing. But thank you, Barbara, for sharing this interesting family story which I enjoyed. Take care Debbie

Lol. Thank you for sharing these precious and humorous memories! How nice that your daughter-in-law could totally feel at home because her brother was just like Steven. Cute! And how fun that your granddaughters love bubble baths.
One pediatrician we had was so up at arms against bubble baths but we used the baby ones and didn't have a problem.

I was surprised Katie allowed it because she's usually very picky about stuff like that. They used special diapers and wipes because of what the regular ones have in them. I'm guessing she thought, it was only a few days and not worth arguing about. I don't know. Thank you for the understanding.

When my grandson was in his teens and living with us, he would often walk around in his underwear. When spoken to he would say that he was at home and he wanted to be comfortable. I told him that it might be disrespectful to his grandma, but she just smiled and said it was okay, as if she could have or would have denied him anything. Today as an adult man he would rather die than walk around here in his underwear. I do not know what he does at his place, he lives in a house with mixed room mates, some male and some females.

This is a delightful story about your Christmases with your sons and your granddaughters and your grant your son-daughter in law and son. The bubble bath sounds like it was a fun story for the girls. If you made any mistakes that didn't show up when it was being read to me aloud so. Patricia.

Children (regardless of their age) continue to baffle us all the time. the little ones are cute but the older ones...well, sometimes I can only shake my head and wonder why. Good story, Barbara

You are right - kids are so very different even from the same set of parents. Cute story about the little girls, being very "natural" about their bodies! An enjoyable read.
