This was very informative about Larry Byrd and his sole determination to become the best basketball player he could be. He grew up poor and kept challenging his older brothers to give him sports he could play and ways he could learn how to become a better person for them.
His father supported his zest for life and encouraged his determination to succeed in life and sports as well.
I learned a lot from reading this and will honor his name whenever I see it in a sports article or game.

I asked my husband for kicks and giggles if he knew who Larry Bird was and he said he's one of the greatest players of all time. Goes to show you how much I knew about basketball.

This was a very informative read. I didnt know much about Larry Bird, but now i can say i do. I would have liked to see what maybe some of his training regime i feel lime that would have been interesting to read about. All in all this is a solid breif bio on the Birdman himself.

Interesting story about Larry Bird. He surely sounds like a winner. I am surprised, however, if his father was an alcoholic, how did he go to work religiously? How did he have a good work ethic?
Anyway, Larry sure seemed to and all those awards and a gold medal at the Olympics! wow, a dedicated young man! Don't you know his family was proud! Good biography!

Well, thank you again Katharine for the kind words and great review! There are some alcoholics that are working alcoholics. They can go to work everyday, get drunk, and get up and go to work the next day. I have seen some of them. Then there are others who cannot do that.

Being a fan of the man or the hick from French Lick, I muse why he moved from that small town to somewhere down South. Between he, and The Pistol, there was one other who game I tried to play... The Kangaroo Kid, Billy Cunningham. Thanks for the memory.
