This is beautifully written and I enjoyed very much listening to it. It is so true that as we age our priorities do change. I am with you. I will leave the cold and the snow weather to those that are young. Have a good day and may God bless you And best of luck in the contest.

This was a fine entry for the "Coming of Age" contest. It reminded me of my youth and life in Connecticut. Now in Northern Florida, it gets cold sometimes, but very little snow. Have a blessed day!

Thanks, Jim, for your review. I appreciate it. I grew up in Ohio with lots of snow, but we have it occasionally in North Carolina. Blessings to you.

Nicely put together and there is no doubt we do change as we age. Those youthful adventures of yesteryear give way to more sedate activities but ones that are still fun. Thanks for sharing and take care.

Thank you very much for your good review, Barry. I wouldn't want to be young ago, but I could use some of strength and energy of those days!

The symbolism and personification in this Coming of Age poem is beautiful and clever. Every new age carries us along and changes us, changing the world around us. We are nature just as are the trees and the wind. Trees use their own stem cells to regenerate themselves and live longer though, while humans argue over stem cell research. Other than that, we are the same. ;)

I enjoyed reading this.

Best wishes,

Alex

I can identify with you poem. I feel the same way about the winter. It has it's own beauty but, I like to feel cozy in a warm house and enjoy the snow as I watch it from the window.

I like the metaphor of winter for your aging years. Age seems to ravage our bodies, much as winter ravages the earth. Yes, things that once brought joy become less significant with age, as our priorities change. Best wishes in the contest. Carol
