Your story had me laughing out loud! I love how you've mixed humor with real life struggles. The way you personify Ms. Lazy is spot on-she feels like the ultimate villain that we all know too well. The "gratitude ritual" was hilarious. Your final toast with chamomile tea had me smiling - it was the perfect way to end your story. Keep writing-this was fantastic!

A lot of the best humour has self-deprecation at its heart and you've certainly gone for that by the truckload here which is probably why I enjoyed your New Year extravaganza.
I have to say I was not 100% clear when you brought up your best friend whether that was an actual friend or Ms Lazy or yet another of your personas - that should probably be personae, right, in the mission to get our Latin Plural ducks in a row.
But yeah, lots of fun. 2025 off to a brilliant start.
