We all have that child who gets repeatedly kicked by the mule. Lol. Three out of four of mine have attended the official school of hard knocks. Each child is an individual. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses. Great piece. Gretchen

Barbara,

I always love your stories about your boys. It sounds like your boys kept you busy. I do believe God answered your prayers for all of your children. God is good.

Well done my friend.

Cecilia

You're welcome. I have two boys and my youngest is the troubled one. He keeps me going.

My brother was a Jeff, and reading your post was like reading a piece out of my own life, except I'm the sister instead of the mother here. My brother's story did not end as well.

Thank you for sharing these snapshots of your life, Barbara. Many will relate.

And I'm glad things turned out well for your family. I'm especially glad your husband and son made up.

xo

I agree with your above story comment. I also remember moments not the specific days. I am super smart, and my parents claimed i was the roughest. Not because I was sick so much, but because I questioned everything. It was tougher on my dad because the only things he read were sports pages and comice mostly in the paper, and car magazines. He couldn't help with homework. My mom could. I love my family. But we were as differentas we were the same:-)

This is an interesting story about Jeff. My Jeff is called David. I understand what you went through and how hard it is to get your husband on the same page. I found only one thing you might want to change: mules kick. It is a little harder to read as you have it.

Hi Barbara

What a beautiful memory this is. I did find some mistakes, but I decided not to document them all because that would've taken away from what else I wanted to say in this review.

So you're a great grandma. I could be one, but none of my grandkids seem to be interested in having children. My granddaughter is 35 years old and if she doesn't have a child soon she won't ever be able to. I have grandsons aged 28
25 and 21.

We speculate that the grandson who is 21 will be the first to make me a great grandma if I live long enough

This story was full of heartfelt emotion, and I'm not sure you would've pulled that off without just writing straight from the heart and not worrying about editing it

Great job. You kept my interest from start to finish.

Thank you for sharing

This is the sort of call you don't want to receive as a mother and grandmother and it must have all been a very traumatic experience for you and Brian. I'm so glad that Jeff and Geoffrey came through it all unscathed. But so difficult when drugs are involved and you have a daughter-in-law who is less that desirable. For a smoother read I would suggest: Tay had a little girl, two years old, of whom she'd lost custody, a fact that didn't help her case.
intervene in Jeff's life made (a) huge difference..
Thanks for sharing this well expressed episode in family life, Barbara. Take care Debbie

I am sure your prayers made a difference. An interesting intimate peek into your family life with Jeff. Edit: Is it Geoffrey (as you first used, or Geoffery eg The infant, Geoffery, struggled because of the things Tay had done to her body while pregnant.Geoffery...
Crystal raised Geoffery as her own.

Great story, Barb. I had a wild one for a few years, but after he flunked out of college, I hired him to work for the company where I was general manager. He eventually ran one of the subdivisions of our company. He now has his own business and is doing great.

This is very well written, and I enjoyed listening to it. Our children can make very poor choices at times and sometimes that's all we can do is just sit back and let them work through it. It sounds as though Jeff made some bad choices but it sounds as though he made a good recovery. Thank you for sharing this part of your life. Patricia.
