Your poem made me love winter, but the ending showed how I really feel. I live in the city and it doesn't take long before it is a mess. In the country I can relate to winter's beauty. Great poem.

Nice one. Some good rhyming and moves along nicely. Thanks for sharing and I love the image. It must be wonderful to watch the snow fall and gradually cover the ground and the trees. Something I have never experienced. Must try it one day.
Take care.

This was a fun, entertaining piece to read, Debi, and I particularly liked how you ended it. I love a winter scene, but after a few days I wish it would go away. A well written piece, I enjoyed reading it.

You have beautifully written this and I really enjoyed it. You kind of make me want to see the scene, but then I get to thinking about what it is like to be in that kind of condition and I say nope I'll take the sunshine to Phoenix.

Hi Patricia, you are always so sweet. Thank you so very much for the awesome comments. Smart move and must be the reason there are at least fifty people I could go to Arizona to visit right now.

I don't think we hit 60° here today and it's supposed to get rather chilly tonight but nothing like you are experiencing.

You used such lovely, descriptive words to paint the scene for the reader. I love the personification of the snow dressing the trees. That is quite a change (inevitable as it is) from peaceful tranquility to a mess! Blessings. Carol

I appreciated the humor of the final lines. Unfortunately, the beauty of the snow does not last very long. Enjoy the beauty while it lasts. Carol

Yes, it was pretty yesterday looking out the window with my cup of tea and woolen socks on. Today, it is a mess and not quite the beautiful winter wonderland as the slush and mush turn grey. Your poem captured it all.

We never get snow where I am, Debi.
On the rare occasions it falls here it melts rapidly in the salt air. Go 5 miles in either direction and you will find it lying on the ground for at least a day or three,
Sad times, wet ground and muddy footprints replace snow angels and sledge rides

While I'm bemoaning the cold, you're writing this gloriously magical verse about your Winter Wonderland:) I love it, Debi! Your imagery is a delight to read and your humour matches it with your "abominable diplomat" and unexpected twist at the end. Well done, Debi, on another inspired gem! Love Debbie

I am never a fan of winter.
The six stars are because not only are rhyme and meter awesome, but you came up with the most joyous, "Hallmark Movie' kind of winter that had me smiling!
I LOVE:
"The snow will dress all of the trees
The covered branches are the sleeves
One wears a snowy white top hat
Abominable diplomat"
I'd give ten stars for that stanza alone!
We both know your pristine scene turns to wet, icy, grey slush and we have to shovel and we track salt into our homes and driving is hazardous...
Hey!
That's the magic! You helped be look at the beauty of the season!

My sweet Special K, you know I used all the pretty words and made it sound so wonderful just so I could drop the bomb at the end. You know I am not a fan either, so my evil plan was set in motion from the start.
I am so glad you liked that stanza because I made that one up completely about dressing the trees with snow. What a feel good feather in my hat that you noticed it as some don't say anything. I did think it was a little creative. Even about the my bomb shell ending..ending change only a few noticed..'
So thank you for noticing and all the kind word. Your six stars are the icing on the snow. Thanks so very much. Love, Debi

I noticed everything about this post...
And yes, I loved the ending, which I was sort of expanding upon with my whiny snow complaints!
Wicked good....

I did pick up and that and loved every bit of your review. I was just telling Rhonda I am trying to be a more detailed reviewer and give what I would like to get for reviews. So often I wonder if they are reviewing mine or someone else's post.
Or else some will write on the subject and just tell you how much they hate snow and not touch on your work.
So I thank you again, since it truly makes a difference to me what a great reviewer you are. If I could nominate you again, I certainly would. Thank you again, my wonderful friend!!

This is a lovely poem about snow and has several delightful visual images of fun and beauty in the snow. But then it can turn into a snowstorm and no paradise at all.
