I've always found fox hunting to be a cruel and evil practice. No animal should ever be hunted for sport. This is a sad piece, Sandra, particularly of the image of the cubs being left behind.

I was one of the protesters against fox hunting. They used to meet in our village square, it was horrible. Foxes only hunt so they and their cubs don't starve. We hunt to eat as well. But not in the way the fox hunters did. Very cruel and horrible way to die. Thanks so much, Jacob, for reading and your thoughts about it. Happy New Year, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

This is a really good one. Just like foxes and their love for chickens. Hens can be blithering idiots. This fit the form perfectly. Only one problem. The farmer owns his gun: Farmer(')s Gun

I believe one can write at most 17 syllables, but can write less than 17, you've got it right, unless it's the two line Seven syllable per line two line bottom half of the renga, but beautifully written HNY Sandra, blessings Roy

Poor baby foxes! We (my husband and me) have started feeding some possums at night. I call them Archie and Edith from the old Sitcom "All in the Family". We just cut up apples and watch them eat. Great poem. Gretchen

Aww, I can quite believe that of you, my friend. The babies are cute, and I'd be doing the same. Not that the farmers around my way would approve! Lol. Thanks so much for reading my poem, Gretchen. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Excellent imagery in this delightful 5/7/5 renga poem.
I used to raise chickens so I know how the farmer must have felt.
Having said that, fox cubs are adorable.
Well done.
Blessings

I suppose the fox find chickens the tastiest, and rabbits come come second, probably because they can run fast. Chickens are the easiest if the farmer is away. Thank you so much for this lovely review, Janet. I'm pleased you liked it. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

It made me think of Beatrix Potter and the Peter Rabbit stories.
It's mischievous and the dramatic irony with the hungry cubs and the farmer's hens at the end ... waiting to see how this one resolves.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Dolly! I'm hoping to learn a few more of these little ones. They are quite complex when you look at the rules! I think I'll only be trying out a few. Thanks for this lovely review, my friend. Love and hugs. Sandra xx

Sweet little renga poem for the book, Sandra dear. You did a super job! Beautifully written and presented in a 7-7 syllable nature haiku. Foxes are always on the search in the hen house!
Sending you my best today as always, and my love and blessings for the new year.

Sandra, I'm unfamiliar with this poetic form. Your verse is a stark reminder of of the cruel and vicious cycle of life for wildlife. They must kill to eat. I hope to read more of your poetry this year :)
