Ah, it may be satire but for many it is nearly non-fiction biography. I think many will read these lines and recall what they or a loved one went trough this year. And given most of our ages, what may be in our future.

The suffering some people have to go through is a tragedy. It makes me realize I could be in far worse shape than I am. My husband would have had to be on dialysis if he had lived. He wasn't looking forward to it, but I figured we could manage. It seems some people get hit with numerous health issues all at once, as you mentioned in your poem. Yes, next year things will lucky and we'll receive all the goodies you mention. Very poignant, and best of luck in the contest. judi

You wrote a while back about nosebleeds. I keep getting then now. They said it was just the dry air. I had one dialysis session and that's it-NO MORE! I REFUSE! I can't stay in one spot for three hours. That's living death for me.

I find the symbol of the snakes on the pole, it's so similar to the Moses pole that would heal those needing healing, a symbol of Jesus on the cross, becoming sin for the world, an odd symbol of healing, beautifully written, blessings Bill, Roy
