Nostalgia is and has always been a great part of my life. Like the moon in this poem, I can look back with sadness on things, like stars that were left behind. And so I often choose to find, and to some, hide in daylight. Beautiful and deep words.

The personification of dawn is well done. It's sad because of the moon disappearing but it's also able to hold on to the misty memories which return when the day turns to night and night gives into dawn.

I love the atmosphere you have created here, Gypsy, with the nighttime imagery intermingled with the lovers' nostalgic wistfulness as they part at dawn to renew the labours of the coming day.

technically the moon is there - just can't actually see it because the daystar is too bright -- but that wouldn't really work poetically LOL!!!
anyway, this was an excellent double tanka
i like the light purple for the middle lines - nice touch!
great imagery and smooth flow throughout
