An excellent entry for the 20 Syllable Poem contest. You put the emotion into words and I like how you rhymed the first 4 lines and then gave the definition on the final line. Your syllable count is accurate at exactly 20. Nicely done. good luck in the contest.

Thank you for reviewing. When I saw the contest, I thought I would try it so quickly. I wrote it in less than a minute because the emotions I have watched my husband experience are so real and raw right now.

A poem about grief, the photograph accentuates your work. The poem and picture pull at the heart, as most adults have gone through this pain in their lifetime.

Thank you so much, it is sad that so many people go through this. I have a few friends that have lost their adult sons or daughters and then also my brother's 15 year-old passed away of brain cancer years ago.
Keep on writing,
Lana

It is so tragic to lose someone in the permanence of death, don't worry, we will all taste the bitter taste of tears, but I've heard it said, death is part of life, I'm still reflecting on that. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Yes, it is something we will all experience and go through ourselves. Someday we will be on the other side of eternity. Thank you for your review!

Hi Lana,
Those five lines are very powerful.Grief can be all consuming and I think all of us have experienced it on different levels throughout our lives. It's unusual for these typed of poems to rhyme, but you nailed it.
Great job

Thank you Cecilia for reviewing this. I wrote it 6 weeks after my step son passed away, so it was pretty raw still.
Keep on writing,
Lana

A few words say volumes. I have several friends who have lost children. Healing is almost impossible, so the words missing your soul and out of control resonate with me. I am not a poet, so I feel like a fraud when I write a critique of poems. Your poem has depth. gayla

Thank you, it is a tough road dealing with this kind of loss. My heart also goes out to those you know have been through this too.

An excellent poem on the
aching of grief. It is not an
easy thing to go through. My
very best wishes for the contest. Have a cozy Sunday
evening and a creative week.

I really feel the of emotion in your poem. It's raw and honest. I appreciate how you keep it short but powerful. Your feelings speak for themselves. So touching and so well written.
