I don't know why people can't understand that love comes to a person at any age. These two people had so much love to give to each other for the last few years of their lives. That Beth finally told John he could go home, that she would be fine, was lovely. They will be together again soon. I'm glad you went as well, Bill. You would have missed something precious. I don't know why people can't understand that love comes to a person at any age. These two people had so much love to give to each other for the last few years of their lives. This is a wonderful love story. It is certainly proof that love knows no age boundaries. I have read several of your other stories about counseling the young, but you are right that this was also about young at heart people. Well written and a 2-hanky story.

Thanks for this story. There is so much angst about the election it seems America has forgotten Veterans Day. The fact that this is non-fiction makes it a gem. People dying on significant days to them happens often. They wait sometimes for a holiday, a birthday or to say good-bye to a special someone when they can. They can also give up and stop eating, wanting to die instead of fighting. Esther.

I like the devotion these two individuals had for each other and their dedication to our country with their service during WWII. My father had three years of combat in WWII, so your story has much meaning for me. Excellent story for Veteran's Day.

Thanks for sharing about your father. I wrote this for all who served. My father was in the Navy medical corps during WWII. I have all of my parents love letters during WWII and they will be published. All my books are on www.williamstephensonbooks.com.
