-Very nice image and presentation, Debbie.
-You wrote a good poem with effective imagery and rhyme.
-I like how you begin with the quote. It is a very good one.
-A very good first verse about how there was darkness,
but there was also the will to go one.
-How Wayne had the presence of mind to do
he did is beyond our explanation.
-He was given a gift and he will be "stronger than before."
-Your words of encouragement will be appreciated by Rhonda and Wayne.

I am pleased to hear from Rhonda that her husband does seem to be on the mend. I can only imagine how scary it must've been for them over the post few days. An excellent piece, Debbie.

What a very beautiful short verse of encouragement for Wayne and Rhonda, and the use of hemingway's quote was very apt, and well chosen. I join you in wishing Wayne a speedy recovery, and renewed strength.
Wendy

This poem is a beautiful tribute to Wayne and Rhonda, capturing the essence of resilience in the face of hardship. Your opening lines create a powerful sense of struggle, perfectly reflecting the darkness they've faced. The message of perseverance and strength gained from adversity is truly inspiring and resonates deeply.

What encouragement! Thanks so much for writing this for Rhonda and Wayne. It's true that we grow through difficult times. And Rhonda and Wayne have overcome so much together.

A very touching poetic tribute to Wane and Rhonda. I cannot imagine the anguish and pain that Rhonda an Wayne are going through. They need all of our prayers.

I love this poem. It's so amazing how much can actually be said in so few words, just eight short lines. And it truly is a statement of fact, and faith. Beautifully written. Might have to change your name from Debbie to Classy, everyone would know you as Classy Darcy.

This is lovely. You write well. I am out of the three digit figures for reviewing, and down to double digits. Trolling back to the past for things to review is sometimes trying work. But me and my big mouth said I reviewed one for one regardless of points. I must stand by what I say, else, who am I? Back to the millstone. :-)

Thank you so much, Karen, for your kind review! Don't worry about trawling back over old posts. No one's going to mind and you'll end up exhausting yourself. Congrats, by the way, on your 'Laurel and Hardy' contest win! Take care Debbie

This is beautiful. I know Wayne and Rhonda appreciates each of these poems they are getting. It is true when we come through and adversity we are stronger than before.

Wait, what? (I'm so embarrassed)

I've been a bit "off" lately and did NOT realize Debi created this as a multi-author book.

Your poem is very "Dickinson-esque" ~ particularly evident to me today as I returned from a ride to Amherst, MA to visit Emily's grave only an hour ago!

I love the Hemingway quote as well, Debbie.

I've been praying for Wayne and was so happy to read Rhonda's update (which I now realize is also part of this book)--

How could I not have registered the obvious? (Duh on me)

I'm going to try to conjure up my muse and quickly contribute.

Smashing success here with the best message!

Karenina

Wow, Karenina, I'm feeling very proud with that Emily comparison! I should go back and read her poetry again because, although I wrote a verse about her, I honestly can't remember too much about her work. They're all merging into each other now:( How lovely to have visited her grave! Are you allowed to take photographs?
Thank you so much for your kindness here and let's hope that Wayne continues to make progress. Such a traumatic experience for them both. Take care Debbie

    Yes! I have taken photographs...
It is a charming old New England Cemetery and Emily's gravestone reads
    "Called Back"

Check it out on Google Images!
