Hi there QC, I thank you so very much for the very kind review for my empty nest poem. The older I get, the more nostalgic I have become so I write about it so I don't drive my family crazy. LOL.
I appreciate all of your kind words. And blessings to you and yours too. Thanks again, my very dear friend.
Love, Debi

But wait until you get Great-grandchildren. They are so much fun and bring new life to everything. We have two, Colt and Alaina. What a wonderfully written poem. Have a great day, and God bless.

Great poetry! I think we have all been there. I have 3 great-grandkids -- but I must say I am not nearly as good as a great-grandma as I was just a grandma. I don't have the energy to keep up with them. If I am really honest, sometimes I prefer to watch from a distance as my kids -- their grandparents- enjoy their turn at the no-parental responsibilities relationships! enjoyed your post. ann

Hi Ann, and when the day comes that I get grandkids, I won't be able to do what I did with the grands, as my lupus has taken a lot out of me in the last year. But I sure will be able to give lots of hugs and kisses and I love rocking babies. So that will be my new assignment and let my kids build tents. LOL.

Once again a perfect poem shows us what an ideal mother and grandmother you are. So cute you look in your empty nest. I really must write something incorporating my children, grandchildren and great grand children. Nearly bed time for me. Good night God Bless

Miss Gabriel Mary Christina, I thank you with all my heart for this lovely review and words for my empty nest poem. Thank you also for the gracious six stars. I appreciate it all so much.
I get more nostalgic with time and will be turning seventy in October of this year. Then I fear that it will only get worse for me. However, it is a blessing to remember and know of the love that I always had.
Please share all of yours with us too, as we can all relate to each other. I will be looking forward to hearing about them and seeing your posts.
Thank you again, my very sweet friend!! Love, Debi

This is a beautifully expressed poem, Debi about how quickly the years go by as each generation goes from babies to adults, far too quickly. A lovely merry-go-round presentation.
cheers,

Hi Debi, Yes it is a bit of an empty nest whrn the kids leave home and when the grandies also grow up and don't come as often as they would when little. So, you lovely well written poem resonates with me also, I try to spend as much time as I can with all the kids, 4 now all teenagers or young ladies and 2 little tots so I will enjoy watching them grow up
Cheers Chris

Hi Chrissy, once again behind, but no matter how long it takes I do try to respond. So thank you for this kind message. I love hearing about others as well,, but are you talking about your grands being that age or your kids?
You, sweetie, are way too young to be a grandma with kids that age??
At least you always seem to be. But thankful that will still have those wonderful memories in our hearts. Love, Debi

Your nest may be "empty" but oh your heart is so full and grew so big to love all these beautiful children and grandchildren and their loved ones. You have been so blessed!!

This seems to fit the Merry-go-Rhyme form as described. You do a good job on the rhymes. How neat you had a house full of children not once but twice. The poem makes it sound like your life is made up of mostly happy memories, in spite of that empty nest.

Hi Crystie, I thank you for your kind words for my poem. I appreciate it so very much.
I was going to contact you anyway, Christie. I know your birthday is coming up next week on the 30th and was wondering if you would allow me to do a poem for you? I like to show how much I appreciate your kind reviews.
Let me know as soon as you can. Ok,? Thanks again, Crystie!

That's really nice of you. I was kind of thinking of skipping the birthday stuff this year. Something has been feeling off-key for a while. It may be more funerals than usual of people I know, or someone they were married to. But how nice of you to offer.
-
Oooh Crystie, I am so sorry that you area going through so much right now, and I do understand. But if you change your mind from now until then, let me know, otherwise I will skip you this year, but will be thinking about you. God bless, dear friend.

Thank you much.

Awe Linda, you are so so so sweet. I appreciate you and all your sweet comments and your six star review. And I hope you don't mind, but I loved a comment you made so much that I changed a line in my poem and used it. It was about your grandkids growing wings. If that wasn't ok, please let me know and I will take it out. But otherwise, thank you for all of your awesome package of stars, sweet words, 'wings', and review. You are the best, dear friend. I love you to pieces!! Debi

I can tell you enjoy writing the Merry-go-Rhyme format, and it's always so interesting to read. I like the rhymes you used, both internal and external. I'm glad you were able to watch your grandchildren grow up, as well as your own three children; and I'm glad you are able to write about both generations. Enjoy the quiet of your empty nest. Blessings. Carol
