Ugh. To begin a day with the thought you are sharing was rather intimidating until the end when finally a humorous moment made me laugh. Gladly, my wife took on that challenge.

This is an excellent read dear secret writer.
I actually cried through part of it and laughed at the end.
It is extremely well written...clearly thought out, etc.
Of course everyone wonders I am sure how you finally got the correct pad?
I so wish my first experience had been more like yours...

Oh, my God! This one really made me laugh out loud! Poor Dad. He was doing his best to be helpful, but just didn't get it. I'm sure my poor dear old Dad would have done exactly the same thing. :)

This is a good post. Being a Girl Dad, I understand how young girls can become instantly embarrassed. I was lucky. My daughters could always ask me for anything. If they needed pads, I would go to the store and get them for them. To me, those things were natural and I never wanted them to feel embarrassed. Anyway, I was totally outnumbered. I had four females in the house: my wife, two daughters, and yes, even the dog is a girl.

The opening sentence of your story provided the perfect hook to capture the reader's interest. With interspersed humor, your story continued to flow smoothly with clear descriptions and realistic dialogue. Your artwook paired perfectly. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

I absolutely love this. I couldn't stop laughing. I didn't laugh at the dilemma but the thought of your father honestly caring enough to want to be all that he could be for you and still missing the mark. This what we do as parents some times. We miss the mark with good intentions. There is a message here for us all. Keep writing. You're on to something.

Very funny story! It is one probably 50% of the population can relate to. :-)
I have a suggestion. I would consider changing the title. I kind of had it figured out, your pad/pad switch, before I got to that part of the story because of the title. So I think it took away a little of the punch of your reveal.
Awesome job! Julie

I loved the story--hilarious! And I loved the way you told it--brilliantly... in a way that maintained my attention, and I like how you broke your story up. It made it easier to read and kept it from being "daunting". A great write!
