The one thing that is certain for us all is that we will die one day. So yes, we should all be careful how we spend the time left to us and make the most of it. Beautifully written, kay

As a writer and reader of mostly prose, I seldom to almost never give up one of our few sixes for a poem. But out of the very few I read regularly, every great once in a while one comes around that I could never justify giving it anything less than a six. Thanks for sharing.

Wow Ric. One of the few times I wear socks, you go and knock them off with an absolutely awesome review. I am humbled by your remarks.

Hello Nomi:

This is very well written and every line in your list of couplets certainly speaks the truth.

With this horrific war between Israel and Palestine, for all of us who are Bible believers, according to Ezekiel 38-16 thru 22 and several other places, the world could be drawing near the end of days.

I fear that 2024 could be the year that brings about World War 3. And according to all I read, America is at its weakest point (military wise) then we have been in many years and we are without a decisive President.

God help us all, my old friend...Keep writing and have a Happy New Year.
Bill

All that you write is true. We have however, an ace in the hole. I do not believe the God of the Bible will ever allow us to be totally annihilated.

This poem, The Time I Have Left, reminds all the readers that we have no control over life's ins and outs, for the most part. So we need to do things today like there is no tomorrow.

Because tomorrow has never been promised to any individual, each new day that you are able to observe is a gift you should give thanks for receiving. Thanks for your review Bill.

The thing I love about God is that it's never too late to change direction, it doesn't really matter how fast we grow or even how slow, God asks us to grow, but mainly our job is to listen and obey, because He's got our best interests in mind, beautifully written Nomi, blessings Roy

This is an excellent posting prompting a lot of thought after the lines are read. What have we been doing with the free will we are given? For everyone, the time will come when we are at the throne of God. Will He be smiling?

A deep search of our very own treacherous hearts may offer a clue. hat is if we are honest with ourselves.

It is a thoughtful and powerful poem and message.
I have been troubled lately with those who wear their faith on their sleeves yet disown, degrade, and villainize the poor, others with different views, strangers at the door, and follow those leaders who spew such hatred.
Your words are wise and truthful.
Best wishes and Happy New Year.

Thank you, Mary, the Bible has promised a harsh fate for those who misrepresent the truth. We hardly need someone spreading lies and deceptive practices where our survival is concerned.

I really enjoyed this. You made a strong, important point, in simple, direct language that anyone can understand, with a nice flow and excellent rhyme choice.

I was particularly impressed with the rhyme of "Bear cubs engaging in playful scrimmage, Industrious mankind made in God's image."

The title "The Time I have Left" made me expect a dour poem contemplating death. Instead, your poem is uplifting, and left me with a well-needed smile.

I enjoyed reading the inspiring message of your poem, based on wisdom and filled with beauty and then truth. Your description of God's creation is offset with timely advice on making Godly choices during the time we have left.

Your poem flows smoothly and is easy and enjoyable to read.

Hello Nomi, your poem is heartfelt and your words and sentiment are true and filled with wisdom. I especially liked:

The Creator is hurt by the evil some display,
He did not design us to act this way.

(Agree, and how people are acting is a shameful disgrace.)

Well-chosen photo. Great rhyming couplets. A pleasure to read.

Thank you. You may describe yourself as a late bloomer, but to me your opinion and your ability to express yourself is fully formed.

Ha, ha, ha. My ability to express myself. "According to my husband," when I tell somebody something, I just don't tell them, I hit them over the head with a sledge hammer. Lol, but at least the message gets delivered. Big-teeth smile. Have a great day. M
