I'm glad she's going to check things with Mitch first, probably a bit wiser and safer. Glad too that the relationship with Waylon is going so well. It's never sentimental, but they are both tough, and they both are honest and insightful. Intriguing and interesting development in this chapter.

Another tasty chapter, Gretchen. I can't quite wrap my brain around Mitch. Is he romantically interested in Miranda. She could be if he showed the slightest interest. Now, she's about to "Narc" on Aaron, whom she should have confided in first that she had to clear it with Mitch. I will, however, waive judgment until next week, LOL.
He looks the pastry over with unbridled last in his eyes. [I think it's more like "lust" in his eyes.
This is part of a larger body of work. [I've always been curious about this, but never asked. Why didn't you set this up as a novel in chapter format? Just curious.
At any rate, Great job, Gretchen.

It was never meant to be a novel. I thought it would be a multi part short story. It has taken on a life of its own. Mitch isn't a bad guy. He's just human like the rest of us. Lol. Thank you for this wonderful review. Gretchen

Poor Miranda she just can"t catch a break. At least Missy isn't around to create more havoc. I need to go back and start at the beginning so I can catch up. Well written great flow.

Very good 'segue' chapter but with enough "uh-oh; where's she leading me with this?" to be interesting and intriguing. I loved that Waylon was worried about having to leave (My! How far these two have come!!) and how she assured him any decision to leave was all his. I like the way their relationship is symbiotic and warm; it's exactly what they BOTH needed!
It should be interesting to see what the sheriff says and whether Aaron will get some answers in the murky waters.
Nicely done yet again, Gretchen!

Well composed. Such an intriguing story. I want to know more. What happens next. So many questions. A double date? How interesting. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts.
