Wow, what a cliff hanger, Gretchen. I hope that mad man Ed
isn't at the door. You did a great job with this chapter. It was
filled with a lot of suspense. I understood why Miranda was
spooked. Her care and concern for Waylon was growing stronger
He, too, was more receptive. I believe Missy wants to be chummy
again in order to pull a fast one like she did in high school. If she
did kill Justin, then she's looking for an alibi maybe.

Hmm, this is a very good chapter. It feels and reads like a mystery or crime drama. Now, we have a clear view of Miranda being afraid, taking steps, and precautions. You've built up the atmosphere nicely, leading in to the hook ending.
