You are too much, Rachelle. I can't tell you how much I love your vignettes of life. I bet you could write a book about people that don't know how to react to your openness. It's such a rare commodity that people don't know how to respond to you.
I love it when your vivacity makes others speechless.
I enjoyed every word.

I need you to talk to my family, Debbie; it's not nearly as appealing a commodity anymore in their eyes.... lol
thank you for your always-warm and wonderful review. xox

LOL. I can understand your problem. I am a mother of four boys, they are all on their own, now. But on numerous occasions I have been chastised for being TOO friendly with people. I have never understood their problem. I, too, am a retired teacher. GREAT POST!!

And there you go!! Every teacher who's reviewed me has shared a variation on this theme!! Kids! If we're not embarrassing them, Barbara, we're not doing our job!
Thanks for the great review. xo

Hello Rachelle,
What a funny story! I loved it. I can somewhat relate. It can be uncomfortable to be silent at times in the company of others. I lived in a native community for over forty years, and they tend to be quite stoic and slow to respond. I'm sure I put my foot in my mouth more times than I care to think about. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.

Yes! One of my piano families had a Native mom, and I thought for many years that she couldn't stand me. I'd do my Perky Piano Teacher thing, and she'd be quite cold. Finally, when her daughters got into high school, one of them explained that that's the nature of her culture. (they were nothing like that themselves --their dad and all the relatives on that side were Jewish; gawd knows WE people aren't stoic or quiet!!) So I can just imagine how they responded to you...probably exactly like my hoity-toity neighbors reacted to me!!! lol.
Anyway, thank you for the warm and validating review.

As I first read this, I thought how dare they!
But after reading your elevator communications, I hate to side with them, but.......
You must have other tenants avoiding you in the elevator!
Your stories were funny and delightful.
Best wishes,
Mary

HAHAHA!! No, I think they were within their rights, Mary! I don't blame you for siding with them!
Thanks for the very fun review. xo

Note to self: Never enter an elevator with Rachelle!
Thanks for another humorous story. I appreciate the fact that you're not afraid to be the butt of your own jokes. I've always enjoyed self-deprecating humor, and you do it very well. Being able to laugh at oneself and not take yourself too seriously is one of the surest ways to hold onto whatever passes for sanity. (Or so I read; I know nothing of sanity from personal experience.)

This was a fun, easy read with just enough humor to keep me engaged. The picture fits perfectly.
This line: "exiting the parking lot already.", might read just as well without the word "already."
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes.

You could be right about that. I'll double-check when I'm done answering the reviews. I appreciate your feedback and suggestion very much! Thank you.

I can remember when we were on tour, I tended to talk with anyone about anything, of course, one was a teen, and the other was on the cusp, so unless I was invisible, as a dad I was a great source of embarrassment anyway, we live in the suburbs, on a 1/4 acre lot in a normal three bedroom single story hose, so don't see elevators much. Beautifully written blessings Roy

Such an enjoyable and fun piece of writing. Very well written, with just the right amount of detail for us to imagine the scenes very vividly. Defy Bobby and your daughter, and just keep taking the elevator! You don't want to fall down the stairs, and it's a lot of stairs to walk up - you wouldn't want to risk having a heart attack in the stairwell! Loved it.

Oy!! You sound like a Jewish Mommie!! (I am related to a lot and one myself so I know the sound!!!)
Two years later, I bought a house, so my life is now elevator-free.
Thanks for a really terrifice, warm, encouraging review. xo

Funny stuff, Rachelle! It seems here in my stuffy corner of New England, chatting on elevators is a social faux pas!
I'm naturally garrulous and so could relate to the cringe worthy reactions you've gotten.
I've soooooo been there!
Love your style of writing! It's so conversational I feel like we're two old friends sitting over coffee!!!
(I bet we'd get along great on an elevator!)

I BET YOU'RE RIGHT!!!
And, yes, it's SUCH an east-coast thing, the silence between people/neighbors, etc. I've only ever lived here, and yet, for some reason, I've never been comfortable with that facet. My gawd, you're together in the same place; why not make it enjoyable??!! (Well, maybe for them, silence IS enjoyable!!)
Anyway, thank you for the, as always, really nice review. Very much appreciated.xo

Rachelle...
You are a gifted writer to be sure, but comedy is clearly your forte. I could NOT stop laughing; laughing out loud... heartily! Not only is the story funny, but the way you tell it makes it so much funnier.
The secret to comedy is timing... and comic timing is often difficult to translate into writing. But not for you. Thank you for regaling us with this hilarious and well-crafted story. When your, "A Fly on the Wall" book comes out, be sure to let me know. I will be first in line to purchase it.
Outstanding work. Well done! Kudos to you.
