A fortress of faith is a wonderful image in your words and I like seeing faith as a fortress. "My old dark ways, I've left behind" is a great line because I can relate, faith brings us to a life of light. You have a smooth poetic form and a vivid use of words.

-I like the premise of "building a fortress for your mind."
