What a delightful poem about a naughty little boy named OLeander. The examples of OLeander's mischief were brilliantly described in perfect rhythm and rhyme

Now what was he thinking to make a face like that
No matter what it was he's still a cute boy to me.
I know this is only a poem but the expression on his face is perfect.

Very cute! I don't know how you got Sawyer to pose for that picture of Leander LOL!!! I love that he stole all the good from simple things like flowers and pickles. I will read this one to my grandchildren when they visit next. I'm sure they'll enjoy it. This is a terrific entry for the contest. A shoe in for sure!
A sixer from the Canadian reviewer, Joy :)

Joy, thank you so very much :-) Sawyer has been a naughty boy of late at meal time. He throws even his favorite foods like blueberries at his Mommy :-) I so appreciate your generous sixth star :-) Brooke

I work with public and it's safe to say I wish I had a little evil inside of me. I find that when kids have a bad day they can act it out but when you have a bad day when you're an adult you just have to suck it up. I think every kid had the day you described in this poem, it's all about how the parents handles it.

I think this is great. Very amusing and well written and with inventive use of form and rhyme. I have only one suggestion.
"He stole their honey from the bees"
Why "their"? This might imply he's stealing it for some communal pot. I would have thought "the" would be more precise. I'd be surprised if you hadn't thought about this too so I'm interested in the reason for your choice.

This was a six all the way through. He was surely a naughty boy.The things he did were very cleverly thought up and the originality here is amazing.I love the rhymes and near-rhymes you used and the beat and flow are great!

Oh, Leander is such a bad boy, but so adorabe. Sawyer is starting to show signs of individuality. Children become such interesting little creatures when that happens. What fun for everyone involved.
I just loved your rhythmic little tribute to Leander. Fun stuff, Brooke.

My grand kids call this "giving the evil eye"...the 11 year old has it down pat! He only drags it out when necessary to get his displeasure known! What an absolute delight, that photo will be difficult to live down when he is about 16!

Sawyer looks as if he has a temper and is set in his ways. I am sure he can be taxing when riled. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Charlie, he has taken to being fussy about food. He throws it at mealtimes. LOL Thanks for your review, my friend :-) Brooke

Now is the time to break him of that habit. You're welcome, Brooke.
