You did a great job of highlighting the tragic aftermath of the fires- but with a touch of hope. There is a natural bond between man and animal. And I am so happy to see this love in action. A beautiful rondel. Thank you for sharing.

I love this Christine. A virtual sixer back to you for this sweet and compassionate Rondel about the darling koalas and other animals (and people) victimized by the horrible fires in your country. Prayers with you all to finally put out the fires. Hugs, Marilyn

Hi Marilyn Thanks again for your great review I am saddened by the photos and videos of our koalas and kangaroos who are caught up in these fires Some do make it and people care
Another round of hot weather , more fires also
Many are deliberately lit and looters around So angry
cheers Chris

Hi Christine. Well the world is watching your plight with the fires. I pray for an end. The mercenaries who set them and prey upon others should be prosecuted. I hope they do. Marilyn

Hello anon, this is a lovely, compassionate Rondel poem. Written in abcb rhyme with good rhythm, it reminds us that not only humans have suffered loss of their homes and belongings, but thousands of indigenous animals have died or been badly burned in the terrible fires that are still burning in Australia. Well done and good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x

Hi Dorothy, Thanks and yes we must remember the poor animals in the bush during these fires. What an awful time for them too. Had to fix the rhyme scheme it was out a litte but kept it much the same in meaning Cheers
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written Rondel about the Australian bush fires that are causing painful burns to the wildlife that survived the fire. Humans step in to help those who suffer from awful burns.

You certainly have done justice in your poem. It is so hard to watch these
poor Koalas suffer. They are just so cute. The line you chose to repeat
our precious wildlife suffer awful burns says it all.

Ugh...this hurts my heart. I put a poem too. Seems like poetry gets out some of the angst. Thank the Lord for some rain, but still a war rages on. Your point is very well stated, because it shows your heart. Love the title too!

Hi Bill, Thanks very much and yes animals suffer greatly in fires as there is often no where to go so many die. We can help the ones who survive though. Cheers

I think this is a good entry for the Rondel Poetry writing prompt.
This well written verse tells of looking after the wildlife that has fallen victim to the wildfires in Australia.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

I believe that you have followed all the requirements for a Rondel Poetry writing prompt entry.
This poem was definitely a passionate plea for all the at-risk wildlife in the fires.
Good luck in the contest.
