Still good writing. But, it is taking too much time to review. I will read the rest but not review until the last one. I hope you and your family are well in the cold weather. Karen

A serious, sensitive armadillo, self appointed ( I guess) knight, keeper of the garden shed, but didn't have the key? This story reminds me a bit of Alice in Wonderland - male version.

Are most of these characters, fictional creatures, except Nicholas? That is what I have noticed as I read the story. The one that has the slick tongue, going in and out, must be a little creepy....onto the next chapter.

Totally fictional -- Nicholas is the only 'person' in the gardens... so far. ;) :)

Delightful introduction to Sir Archie. I like the charming armadillo. He's a regal and curious character.
I love your picture of the garden with the pink door. It's a positively charming story!

'...releasing a comfortable nearly musical snort as his tongue disappeared.' (I love this detail!)
'"Sir Archie, will do, Groundskeeper." He raised his head proudly again and stood as tall as his armor would allow.' (And this one as well!)

Comment from Loren .
New characters entering and all with histories and background and yes, personalities. My question, at this point, do they all somehow play a part in the unfolding of the plot line of the story? It's sad to get to know (even vaguely) a character and find he's only a one liner with a walk-on roll. On the other hand, it does speak to the interesting population of this wonderful garden. Loren

Sure... we'll get there. But 500 words just really isn't a lot and I want to keep it in that realm for 'attention' spans of the pre-teen mind. Thanx so much for continuing with me! ;) Yvette

Such a fun story. I don't see any errors at all. Not in any of the previous chapters either. It makes for a very easy read that flows so well.
It's so nice when you're reading something this enjoyable.
So far the pink armadillo is my favourite character.

So... I wonder what could be in the cabinet? And what does it mean to be THE groundskeeper? Obviously, he's magical... he can speak with gnomes and little armadillo's. I wonder what he's going to be able to do with the gardens! :)

Yvette,
I wish I had a 6 for this chapter! Sir Archie is a delightful character (I love that he is PINK!) and Nicholas appears to be a most perceptive young man (be still my heart~ as a young lady reading this, I would have a total crush on him already!!). Dialogue still awesome.
On to Chap 5..
