Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

What a bittersweet two-part tale. I'm glad you accomplished something huge, and I'm glad you were able to go somewhere where your talents were more appreciated by management. This story had innovation, office politics, wider employment politics with union competition, and a ticking clock. You pulled the elements together nicely with a good epilogue to show us how things panned out in the end. Nicely done.

Totally amazed at these ongoing, never ending situations you have been in. Not sure if that is good or a potential problem. Life as we know it buried under tons of earth. Who would have ever believed a graduate of PSU knew anything other than beer and football. You are one with me, have used pencils all my life. My children would shake their heads when I said get out you pencils and paper, we have some math to do.

Thanks for the rating and review. I just posted the last Novella. Born in Scranton, I worked in the coal mines of Western PA to pay my way through college. The lower class in PA either worked in the mines or steel mills. Hope you like my latest posting about Turkey-Greece. been very busy, will try and find some time to start reading more. I cant write 2 stories/poems a day like you do s.

Nothing else to do, the rain never ends, the sun never shines. At least my dogs sleep with me. My Mindless poems say let your mind wander, nobody knows where it will go.

Well, that it a shame, the way you were treated, and like you said, too bad you didn't tell Sam the reasons you left. The upper echelon reaped the rewards of increase in production of 50% without rewarding or even acknowledging you. That is really inexcusable. But as you also said,"water under the bridge." Terrible.

Thanks for the review and rating.. I only have one more Novella to post then I'll get back to the short stories. I have "moved on" 5 times in my career, never fired or laid off, always climbing the corp ladder... Engineers: never appreciated and always overworked-underpaid, but "We make the world work".

I really enjoyed your story! The way you captured the intensity of that moment Don's decision was challenged was so gripping. I felt the tension in the room. The part where those surveyors are tracked down made me laugh. Well written and an enjoyable read. Keep up the great work!
