Here is a puzzling image: ""I can picture him shooting the table, sure, but it doesn't explain how this guy ends up dead in Donatelli's car at the bottom of the lake. And this will begin to confuse the reader.

Wonderful, Carol. It's really very well written and you keep on the tension. You don't need to respond to this. I'm catching and at speed. Hugs, Ulla xcx

Excellent chapter, Carol. It gripped me from the beginning and didn't let go till the end. Great dialogue.
I have no suggestions for improvement.
I'm keeping this brief so I can catch up. In return, no need to respond.

There's never a dull moment (or dull sentence). I especially enjoyed this chapter focused on the actions and dialogue between Tango and Poppa, Enough happened in this chapter that they can all begin to put the pieces together.

You left Eleanor hanging, unable to tell Garth she knows where Donatelli is located, which cleverly left the reader hanging hopeful. I love your style. This is another exceptional chapter.

Angles coming in from all directions, makes it almost impossible to figure out everything that's going on all at once. But it's pretty obvious exactly who is behind it all. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed this chapter. (I enjoy all of them, by the way) --

Nothing suspicious at ALL about a "German looking guy" walking into a dive bar with a painting...

(smile)

This is how criminals get caught. They get cocky and think they're invisible.

THAT is Eleanor's superpower!

(I wish oh wish she'd blurted out that she'd located Donatelli)

I am sure that's coming soon!

I'm dying... Should be in bed but instead I am trying to get through over 100 reviews that have been stacking up this week. I think I'm just going to have to tell everyone thanks and I appreciate you or I'll never get caught up.
    Love ya, Carol

Sometimes cut and paste is the only way. People understand! I just wrote ten replies that went "poof" before I could send them.

My second round was much briefer!

So Tango and Poppa have been doing some great surveillance work, and they've spotted Vince Rossi and two thugs and a forth that had eluded them before, but now has been seem with a painting, so Doyle is involved, beautifully written Carol, blessings Roy

A lot of drama! Thanks for enjoying the story and my apologies for being so far behind. Writing for the contest and having to be done by the end of the month is murder. I don't know if it will happen, but I'm trying.

Plenty going on at the Hideaway Bar and with Poppa and Tango on the outside, waiting, watching, impatient, I feel there's some drama still to go . Another good read, Carol.
well done,
cheers

It's good that Tango and Poppa are a team because Tango is way too impatient and could get all of them into trouble. Good that Poppa called Garth. But I wish he'd let Eleanor talk when she has something urgent to share. Besides, he needed worry about keeping her safe and she's already dead. He doesn't know what a gold mine it is to have a ghost on his team.

Someone, please remind me where my brain was when I decided to write a story and visit my awesome great-granddaughters, who put the "Energizer Bunny" to shame with their activities and everything else. I'm trying to write, enjoy, review, enjoy, cook, enjoy, and clean. Oh yeah, did I mention I enjoy them as much as possible? It's been fun but a stretch for this old lady. Thanks so much for sticking with me. Forgive my tardiness.

So much happening at once. Eleanor does need to get to Garth, but tailing this German guy and finding confirmation of the links with Doyle, as well as the painting heist need to be sorted first. Well done. Very exciting.
