Thanks, Linda. I don't have a treadmill, but I should probably start thinking about it.

Hi Paul, sorry to be replying so late...
I just made the trip to Florida to spend
the holidays in Florida...LOL...but I will
be back in Illinois to see the snow...

I told myself for many years to get a
treadmill...but I just kept putting it
off....didn't think I would ever use it...
    surprising enough I do...
your so welcome my sweet friend...
    love xxoo 🙏🙏🌼

Paul, This is a very well written 20 Syllable poem you have penned for the contest. I would say your reasons for not going for a run are so legit! Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Thanks, Teri. My reasons for not going out have become more numerous as I age.

I can relate to this one. I live in Minnesota and used to run all year around including in a foot of snow. I mostly cross-country ski in winter which is much more fun.

Well done and good luck in the contest.

I used to go out regardless of the weather, but I'm getting soft in my old age.

Excellent little poem that most of us would agree with. I do not think I would do a daily run in a foot of snow. You did well with the twenty syllable count and you have a smooth rhyming of words.

Thanks, Elaine. A foot of snow was not too bad fifty years ago. My, how things do change.

Sounds like a sensible plan. You might not believe it, but I have never been in that situation. The only times I have seen snow were when I lived in France and when we were travelling in Europe. Best wishes for the contest.

Thanks, Wendy. As I get older, the snow becomes more of a problem, but I would not live anywhere else.

I think you have done an exceptional job here. It flows like a charm and rhymes too!

Of course falling in the snow and ice and horribleness of winter that once was so much fun like snowball fights, can give pause to doing a little inside running instead.

Wishing you great luck with the Contest Committee. :)

Thanks, Gloria. Oh, for the snowball fights of yesteryear.

And then tomorrow you will find/ another chance to be run-blind. My daughter has a treadmill, see and in bad weather you'll find she, jogging on the turning belt (she wears it out as rain doth pelt).

Or something!
I liked this one. It's the perfect accompaniment to that little voice in one's head that says, it's cold...it's risky... but if you stop, you STOP.

Very nice entry for the 20 syllables contest. I definitely avoid going out at all in the snowy weather if I can help it! Lol
Thanks for sharing this with us and good luck in the contest.

Hi Paul,
I think anyone who runs or walks outside can empathize with you. I do go for my walks outside in the Winter if the sidewalks are somewhat cleared and the temperature is above 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest or your weekend.

Thanks, Joan. Each year it gets more difficult to brave the winter, but I'm going to give it one more try.

No problem, Paul. Same with me. According to the Farmer's Almanac we are in for a bad one this year here in Minnesota.

I most certainly don't blame you Paul. Best to stay inside and keep warm. I really like your little rhymed 20 syllable poem and wish you lots of luck in the competition. Jen.
