Overachiever you! First AND last word beginning with A, B, C, D, and even E (although you could have picked any letter for that last line!) I wonder how many of today's millionaires would be out there doing this? I can think of at least a few prominent ones who would NOT!
Congrats on the win (belatedly)

Nice sentiment. Good rhyming. Structure works well. Certainly touches one's emotions. Would have selected a different color for framing, perhaps a light blue, but just my opinion.

That's an amazing story, someone being so selfless. Are there people like that left in this world I wonder? I enjoyed this terrific contest entry and the uplifting story. Best of luck in the contest.

Excellent ABC poem with a twist. I've never seen the required lettering used at the end, as well as the beginning. You did an excellent job and it was such a great story as well. Have a great evening. Shirley

Hi there Shirley. Thanks so much for the kind words for my A B C D E poem. It was fun adding the challenge of monorhyme, and add the last word too with the consecutive letter, as well as beginning and still make the story make sense. Thanks again for your very kind comments, my dear friend

I've never seen an ABC poem that had both the first and last word of the line end with the same letter. What a clever twist and I'm sure a bit of a challenge to execute.
Best of luck in the contest.

You were very creative on this one using the letters for both the first and last words of each line. You have chosen a great picture and told a very interesting story.

Anne, like always you are so sweet. Thank you for the kind comments about this poem. I wish I could remember more about the real man, but I do know that he retired this way and gave his empire away to others, mostly children in need. I do appreciate your lovely review so much!

This is a very interesting entry. A mini story in poetic form. It sounds like Bob was an unsung hero in his community.
Carried people's groceries, for food and little Care
Does this line mean, he carried groceries to get food?
Good luck in the contest.

Hi there Lance. Yes, the article that I read once about a man like this, was that he lived like he had nothing. He accepted food and a little care and slept in the store room of the store where he helped carry the groceries. It has been a while, but at least that is what I remember of the story. I didn't even plan on using his life when I started, but it fell into place the best it could with such limitations of trying to keep up the meter, tell the story and get the abcde letters on the front and end of each line. Thank you so much my friend for your very kind review.

Normally, the last line doesn't follow the alphabet. But this is a prompt. I liked the way you closed each line with the same letter - haven't seen that used before. This is a feel-good poem about a man cleaning up the land to help others. I enjoyed your contest entry. K xx

Hi there Kay, Thanks so much for the kind words for my A B C D E poem. It was fun adding the challenge of monorhyme, and add the last word too with the consecutive letter, as well as beginning and still make the story make sense. And yeah, I just used the letter E because it felt more balanced. Thanks again for your very kind comments, my dear friend
