This poem is brilliant. I read it out to my husband and he enjoyed it too. It is long but it tells a story in a wonderful rhyming style with a sense of fun. Thanks for posting it - I look forward to reading more of your work, Giddy

Thanks, Giddy. It might take a while, but Patrick will probably be back.

I remember reading about this Irish reprobate before! Once again he has brought a smile to my lips, I enjoyed your description of God's summer sartorial dress sense. On balance, I hope Patrick is able to hold the job down. My blood runs cold at the prospect of the place being run by a politician!

Thanks for the review. I think God had his eye on Andrew Cuomo.

This was just fun to read. It looked pretty long at first glance but went by in no time. It just made me chuckle a lot. Now I wouldn't mind if it went on a little longer. Great job.

Absolutely brilliant Paul! If you don't win the contest I shall be most disappointed. You sure put a lot of thought into your tale of god visiting hell. And you can never trust Patrick McKee he's an Irish trickster. Wonder where he got the aircon. from? Hee, Hee, Pat McKee only god has the key! K xx

Thanks, Aussie. I think we will see another installment when God checks up on Patrick in a month or two.

I can't wait! :-)

This guy must be a bad person for God to let him take the Devil's place.
I know that Devil is on the loose. This world is getting worse than ever.
He obviously thinks he is the boss of people. The search I did on him does not paint a great picture. Thank you for the awareness.

Thanks for the review, Carolyn. I think the devil came to Earth after his retirement. I wonder if God might see that it might be a problem having him here.
Comment from Sandra Nelms-Ludwig
This is a good poem. Basically, the rhyme scheme works throughout the poem, but there are places it feels a bit forced. The idea hell is turned over to Pat Mckee is cleverly done. Would like to know where Satan has run. Lastly, putting a full stop period in the middle of a line breaks the rhythm of the poem such as in this line ~He was stymied. He just sensed it. Perhaps better written as~He was stymied and just sensed it. Overall, well written. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Sandra. We might have to have another poem to find out what the devil is up to.

You are welcome.

I must go and look for the others, this was such a fun poem with God getting Pat to sign a contract. What a fabulous idea. Lol. The rhyming was spot on with amazing flow. This must be a winner, I can't see anyone beating this. Very well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Blessings,
though I still believe he'll is a horrible place.ð???

Thanks, Cindy. Let's see what happens in the next installment. I'm sure that God would like to see something a little different than what Pat has planned.

I will make it a point to double back and kick myself for missing Pat in previous poems!
This is long but reads "short"--so entertaining was the tale, and with rhymes that had me smiling.
I'm sure there will be stiff competition, but God in Oakley Shades, with a " Cure Aids" tee-shirt???
This is going to be tough to beat! More McKee poems please!

It takes some time to write these, but I will try for another one in the future.

No hurry... Just hoping the muse gives Patrick M. a few more adventures...
