I think we all get it. We've read all about your Trump hate for years. We get it. you think trump is racist, sexist, a rapist, evil, stupid, a dictator, a fascist, a Hitler clone, the worst thing for America and the world. Yeah, we got all of that.
Well, you've repeatedly told us all of that and warned us not to vote for Trump. We didn't listen. Okay, he's President. And he can't become President again. There will be no third election. It's over. It's done.

The constant profanity from Steve is wearing us thin as well. There are a lot of people on the site who do not appreciate profanity. That's why we place warnings for it on the writing entries. And if you read the fine print, it's actually against the site rules. In fact think I should start a new policy for political posts, that I will no longer engage with anyone who uses profanity unless it's clearly more humorous than it is derogatory.

CD, it has nothing to do with not offending me. It is about following the rules of the site. You may remember that in the past, when things got particularly vicious, massive threads would get cleared out. I would prefer to have quality discourse that remains archived. And I would prefer to see the name-calling toned down, and a focus on policy over personalities, even if a certain politician seems to lately be driven more by the latter than the former.

Lancellot, I have little faith in y. Even your proclamation that he is over and done with. You know (or should know) that if he has even a teeny-tiny chance of overturning the constitution and running for a third time, he will definitely do it. And who will stop him. certainly not the spineless cowards of the GOP and very unlikely the tainted SCOTUS. Even if they did object, why would Trump listen when he has basically secured the support of the top levels of the military and the obeisance of a major chunk of the population.
As to why I keep commenting on the man, rather than his policies, he has no fixed policies. He wavers with the wind. Loose cannon is an appropriate metaphor, rolling uncontrolled around the deck at the first hint of a storm crushing anybody and everybody in its path. The first ripples of his ridiculous economic interference are already reaching our shores. We have no viable way of countering the likely carnage so the least you can do is allow us to vent our spleen here in this insignificant forum.

We had a productive conversation earlier on tariffs. No sensible economic conservative supports Trump's tariffs, except for those which are actually reciprocal (in response to a tariff, duty or subsidy). The best type of tariff is enacted in response to a subsidy, causing a direct transfer of wealth from the subsiding government to the tariffing government. China is dumping all sorts of products under Winnie the Pooh's dictatorship, in his quest for more honey. And we are currently doing it with the Chips Act.
If Trump continues with non-reciprocal tariffs, it will cause massive inflation for Americans and destroy the country. It is unclear exactly why he went after Canada and why he is doing something he said he wouldn't do. Conservatives are holding their breath, hoping this is a bluff to get other countries to make various concessions on their unfair practices currently unreported by the media.
