The Heart of Poetry
: Rivers by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens
Quatrain Poetry Contest contest entry

River cascades from hill to valley
Rushing onward it does not dally
Gently gliding through meadow it goes
Calms slowly down, as tranquility flows

Canyon is rising far up ahead
Sentinel walls of deep crimson red
River cuts deep through boulders and sand
Course is well charted by its Maker's hand

Life giving force, waters collected
God's graciousness , rivers reflected
Creation's canvas, landscape to behold
Beside still waters, restoreth my soul
