She is my midnight owl A friend in fair weather or foul We sometimes get mad Our problems can be so bad Our natures are the same When we call each other a nasty name Neither of us wants to take the blame Yet she has a good heart Even though at times we're ready to part Many times our friendship seems to fail At other times, we dovetail We have walked on rocky ground But I'm glad she's always around Author Notes Alicia and I have the kind of relationship described in this poem She has a lot of physical problems-dialysis, knee replacement, difficulty breathing and sleeping
