Painfully writing from my cell block
block in my mind and heart
heart full of memories, good and bad
bad feelings invading my being
being lonely, criticized, left out
out of my body
body full of aches and pains
pains torturing my soul and spirit
spirit wandering darkened paths
paths criss-crossing over rocky grounds
grounds and mountain trails
trails dangerous and steep
steep precipices where I've almost fallen
fallen as I write from my cell block so painfully

Author Notes
I have gone long periods without writing, blocked by emotions or sometimes I just keep putting it off. I chose this poem to start my book because the poetry is flowing out I feel I'm breaking out of a cell block
