Sweetie Pie by Debi Pick Marquette
Rhyming poem for a child. Contest Winner

You'll always be my Sweetie Pie

You asked what, where, when, how and why

Grandma, I'll show you how to peek

And do our sneakers really sneak

You'd try to catch the dragonfly

You'll always be my Sweetie Pie

Our picnic fun could last for hours

We'd build a tent, you picked me flowers

You were Beauty, I was the Beast

You asked to dance, after the feast

You'll always be my Sweetie Pie

Could not love you more if I try

Before you went down for your nap

I rocked and held you on my lap

I'd sing to you a lullaby

You'll always be my Sweetie Pie
