A chapter in the book The Heart of Poetry

Ocean's Destiny

by Carolyn 'Deaton' Stephens

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where the ocean meets the sky
In a brilliant blend of blue
And the waves begin to roll
from the depths and change their hue
Where tides are born to high and low
And God has told them where to flow
To rise at night and ebb by day
As Nature sings them on their way
Where waves are born on ocean's floor
And sea foams wild and breakers roar
Vast waters roll to kiss the shore
But can not enter heaven's door
God's wondrous love, redemption's plan
Includes not ocean waves and sand
But created offspring of His hand
The obedient heart, the soul of man
