Meeting The Bard on the streets of Bel Air

A chapter in the book The Bard of Bel Air

Prologue

by michaelcahill

The Bard of Bel Air

laser eyes hypnotize right through
the hole that stands before you
daddy o
are those Brunos on them feets?
                          one on each side?
I dig that rhythm of those swishin'
                       silky drawers
                               shoosh-shee-shoosh-sha-sha

dig it- my dime spinnin' dude
can't buy coffee though... ho,ho,ho
you have that camel burden,
                        pushin' hard,
but I see right through the eye
clear as bells on angels toes

                     what's a little crazy
                             matter
                                    to the hatter
                                splatter and shatter
for The Bard needs the crime of rhyme
as you perceive him the slime that begs for...   dime
a dozen when your cousin didn't snitch to your ma
well, I could tell you bout your pa'

but, I saw that you done froze him
did you know?
        I saw you expose him
                        to the roll of dimes
                                     you couldn't live without?

I suppose it all sounded a bit nonesensical when all was said and done. Honestly, no one listened that intently to The Bard. Now, was not the time. The mansion had cops, paramedics drinking coffee, late arriving coroners, an irritated detective and a cracker-jack team of cryogenic workers that were just about done wrapping up their work with the deceased, Johnathon Blackwell Senior, both figuratively and literally.

The deceased (and hoped to be revived one day) had previously been one of the richest moguls in the music business. The publishing holdings, alone, approached a billion dollars. The company produced a multidude of plantinum records annually, and the family had a special room for grammys and other industry awards. It was not a small room.

That responsibility now fell to his son, Johnathon Blackwell, Junior.

Detective Tenaya Adrian did not find any of this above board. She had a suspicious nature, which suited her position as lead detective on this case. No one believed there was a case here. She did.

Anything in the way of feedback or suggestions is always eagerly sought. I had quite a few short stories that I was going to chose from. I decided to start from scratch. It is possible that I am not all there! Hopefully you are, as you have been in the past. Hahaha. mikey
