A Villanelle: Long Time Since I Heard Silence
Longtime Since I Heard Silence
by amada
I like when silences embrace the veil of inner ear. It's a long time since I haven't heard of its grace In its shield, I feel that Heaven's almost near. Noise drapes a constant background soundtrack; I fear To go into my seasons with a rage for that tracked trace. I like when silences embrace the veil of inner ear. Autumn leaves fall muted in almond-shaped tiers Each one in the hush of their holy sacred space. In its shield, I feel that Heaven's almost near. I long to go where my sound has no year No lavish language to save in a glowing silver case. I like when silences embrace the veil of inner ear. It was there before the start of my first sphere, My breath shot above the soil and calm kissed my face. In its shield, I feel that Heaven's almost near. Now I seek stillness without ever a need to veer. Related, maybe, to the word melancholy, I don't race. I like when silences embrace the veil of inner ear, In its shield, I feel that Heaven's almost near. |
