Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
Queensland's flooded outback.

All The Rivers Run.

by Aussie

My heart is breaking
Breaking for those lost
Lost, 150,000 cattle
Cattle, sheep and goats
Goats can climb; horses
Horses, can't swim
Swim against rushing floods
Floods we have never seen
Seen in the Outback country
Country normally drought-stricken
Stricken now by a phenomenal disaster
Disaster doubled the size of Victoria
Victoria prays for Queensland
Queensland is praying for surcease
Surcease from the flooding rains
Rains have stolen the lands
Lands and livelihood of graziers
Graziers pray, I pray every day
Day of reckoning, I know not
Not for lack of prayers
Prayers gather like wheat
Wheat waving in the sun
Sun is my faith in the men
Men and women on the land
Land flourishing again
Again my faith will be whole.

My Faith Poetry contest entry

Contest Entry My Faith Poetry: My faith is in the spirit of the men and women, children too. The Outback is a massive area for livestock. Normally drought-stricken (sometimes no rain for years.) Some cattle stations will go bust. The Govt has promised $75,000 to help re-stock. The rebuild will take months, or years for them to recover. Some will just walk away.
