A quatern

A fool's paradise.

by royowen

Yes, I believe I'm still a man
and not some painting on a can.
I'm simply not another gender,
that's being mixed in nature's blender.

For I am not an obscure plan,
Yes, I believe I'm still a man.
I'm not some strange and foreign seed,
that's planted to fit fate's dark need.

How can we think that truth is smothered,
for some strange reason falsely mothered?
Yes, I believe I'm still a man,
not blown across some cosmic span.

Did someone change creation's mind,
so now we think we're deaf and blind.
Yet they must think with fools we ran,
Yes, I believe I'm still a man.

Quatern is a sixteen line French form composed of four quatrains. It is similar to the Kyrielle and the Retourne. It has a refrain that is in a different place in each quatrain. The first line of stanza one is the second line of stanza two, third line of stanza three, and fourth line of stanza four. A quatern has eight syllables per line. It does not have to be iambic or follow a set rhyme scheme.

Genesis 5:2
Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created ESV

Romans 12:1-2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

I was wondering who has created sub clauses to God''s 2nd commandment of love thy neighbour, doesn't that cover it all, I find this new woke outlook as being most disturbing, telling me how to think.
Thanks for reading. R.Owen.
