Children are so sweet

Protected By Their Innocence

A bright outlook in a young mind

Not yet corrupted by this world.

There’s joy in all the things they find,

Protected by their innocence.

No hate exists, they’re colorblind

In their imaginary world.

We all should want to be so kind,

Protected by their innocence.

***************************

Their hearts so pure, they teach mankind

To seek out peace throughout the world.

With love and kindness intertwined,

Protected by their innocence.

Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza. Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas. Any type of rhyme scheme can be used. More information and an example.


I had no idea what to write about, but I was playing with my 6 year old granddaughter and she's just so sweet and pure hearted. I decided to write about children's innocence.
