If only the young me knew it would get easier
Life's Experiences
by Claire Tennant
Little one I see your face
I long to hold you and embrace
maybe I need to give you space
until your smile the tears replace
I know how you must feel
your circumstance does not appeal
I've heard your friends their teasing reveal
fear and hurt you conceal
Some day you will open a door
where living does not seem a chore
you will forget what has gone before
your burning desire at the core
That dream will set you free
hard work is the key
with determination you will see
your rewards eventually
Until then I will pray
for God's protection every day
He will show you a better way
for by your side He will stay
I long to hold you and embrace
maybe I need to give you space
until your smile the tears replace
I know how you must feel
your circumstance does not appeal
I've heard your friends their teasing reveal
fear and hurt you conceal
Some day you will open a door
where living does not seem a chore
you will forget what has gone before
your burning desire at the core
That dream will set you free
hard work is the key
with determination you will see
your rewards eventually
Until then I will pray
for God's protection every day
He will show you a better way
for by your side He will stay
