Thanks to Blessed Carlo

by dovemarie

In October 2024, I went on a pilgrimage to Italy. It was called Highway to Heaven, in honor of Blessed Carlo Acutis, who will be declared a saint. A couple of the members of my group told me to stay in a church while they went sightseeing and shopping. The group members told me there was going to be a Mass in that Church. After about an hour and a half of waiting for them to come back to get me, I got nervous and asked a priest about directions to where there might be a Mass. He told me to go down a flight of stairs, which I did, but I couldn't see any Mass being celebrated, then I wandered around outside, panicking. I was separated from the rest of my group, and I asked a woman nearby if she spoke English. She said she did, and I told her that I couldn't find my group. She asked me if there was anybody I could call, and I said "No." (I didn't know how to use the What's App on my phone) I did call the number of one of the group members that came up on my screen, but there was no answer. The lady who took care of me said "I saw some members of your group wandering around a few minutes ago," (I had forgotten I was wearing the Highway to Heaven T-shirt that all the group was supposed to wear that day.) She said she saw their shirts, similar to mine, and she led me into a downstairs part of the church. Amen! I saw the rest of my group, and our guide breathed a sigh of relief when she saw me. I thanked the lady - she was my guardian angel! The woman I had called told me that she didn't answer because she thought it was one of her clients calling from the United States! I am so grateful to both the lady and to Blessed Carlo (because I was wearing an identifying T-shirt). There are always miracles happening.
