Recently at work, my boss wanted me to give her the name of a member at the gym that confidently told me that she was annoyed at the people talking around her during demos and wanted to know if I could try to address it and keeping her name anonymous. My boss changed her tone and said that I need to tell her because this is her business, but I did not give in.

When you betray someone's confidence, you essentially break their trust by sharing private information they confided in you, which can lead to a range of negative consequences including damaged relationships, feelings of anger, disappointment, hurt, and a loss of trust, potentially impacting the future dynamics between you and the person you betrayed; it can also damage your own reputation as someone reliable and trustworthy. e
