They still loved each other, but the spark had gone.
Predictability, for Fred, was comforting, reassuring.
Freda craved something different, revitalising.
She took the initiative. A new welcome home.
Fred's pick-up scrunched the gravel.
Same time every day. To the minute.
Fred entered and followed the scent trail to the living room.
Freda lay on the couch in a negligee.
"Tie me up," she purred, "and do whatever you want."
So he tied her up and went golfing.
