Here's a true story. There was a contest on Thanksgiving that I had actually planned on. I knew it was going to be there. It was Thanksgiving for crying out loud. "Write about someone or something you're thankful for." Again, I knew it was going to be there.

That very day, before the contest came up, I had a brilliant idea of something I was truly thankful for. It was just something simple but I was thankful it was in my life at that very moment and looked forward to entering the Thanksgiving day prompt with this funny but relatable idea. The masses would have loved it. There's good chance I might have won with it.

Everyone knows how much I love these contests. That is the 'ONLY' reason I'm on this site...to join contests that challenge my brain or to just throw my money away with something I thought hilarious that surely no one else would. That happens a lot.

Well, back to the story. I went to work and wrote this ridiculous piece for this ridiculous item I was thankful for. I went and found the perfect picture to accompany the piece, centered and spruced it up in my art program and after a couple hours of work, decided it was ready to offer to the public.

I used an on-line spell checker because the one on here blows. After correcting my usual mistakes (maybe some day I'll actually learn how to spell repeatedly) I went to spend my five bucks to enter the Thanksgiving Day prompt.

Can you guess what happened? I'll tell you. I COULDN'T JOIN IT! It was one of those friggin' 30 day no wins contests. It was a thankful contest on fucking Thanksgiving and I couldn't join the damn contest!

Sure I've won a prompt in the last 30 days, or maybe tied, who the hell knows? Who the hell cares? A thankful contest on "Thanksgiving" and I couldn't enter it? That is seriously bullshit. I might just quit this site for that alone.

I pay my dues each month and should be able to enter "ANY" fucking contest I want, simply for the money they take from my Paypal account each and every month.

The thing I was thankful for was my little old, handheld potato peeler. I'd be lost without it. I had a great, hilarious piece wrote for it but yep, on Thanksgiving Day...I couldn't enter the Thanksgiving contest.

There's my true story. Will it win the real one hundred dollars for the "True Story" site contest. I would bet a fat load of cash that it doesn't.

The End.
