treasures found in an old photo album
Snapshots of Life
by BlueMarble
When did I get old? Derrick Dove & the Peacekeepers ask that in the song by the same title (When Did I Get Old) while I listen to it and look back on my life and ask the same question.
So many years and so many memories have flown by to make up my life. My favorites to look back on are the ones I made while I was still young enough to make memories worth keeping.
I love to look back on those years of growing up ... throwing snowballs in the winter - swimming in the river in the summer ... playing games with my childhood friends.
It makes me feel good to look back on the years that flew by ... leaving Minnesota behind and finding a world filled with new memories to make. Memories of seeing the world ... falling in love and getting married ... raising a family... watching first my children and then theirs grow into self-sufficient adults.
But now, I'm an old and tired widow. The pleasures of life are just memories that I keep stored in the old photo album that I enjoy spending time with when the day gets me feeling weary.
My life is one long memory and my old photo album is my link to it.
