A rare golfing triumph

My Monday.

by Terry Reilly

Monday.

Golf.

Brrring, brrring!

I jolt awake. 6am!

Stumble to the shower.

Be bold. Ice cold. Wow!

Howl. Towel. Growl.

Dress. To impress. To express. For success.

Black coffee. Like toffee. I’m offee.

Commuter jam. Daring, scaring, reckless, I am.

Arrive. Alive. I thrive. High five.

First tee. Back, down, through, whack! Straight, great, celebrate.

Two more, on the green. Long putt, best I’ve seen. Par! Star!

*

Final hole, down in three. Friends applaud my victory.

What a round! I have made this sacred ground. Cheers abound.

Clubhouse beckons. Drinks for all.

Monday, and I’m standing tall.

A Typical Day writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
In 100 words, or less, describe a typical day in your life. You can embellish a bit--for entertainment purposes--but try to keep it as factual as possible. Show us what it's like to walk in your shoes. Have fun with it!

Mondays are always golf days. They are seldom as successful as this!
This piece is an example of what I choose to call a *prosem*. It is first cousin to free verse poetry but is basically free form prose with sporadic poetic elements such as rhyming and rhythmic drive.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
