As sunlight slips away each night
And I lay down to go to sleep

I start with just a grateul prayer
For all the blessings in my life
I thank the Lord for being there
In times of joy as well as strife

And then I pray for those I know
And those I've never met as well
I pray their faith like mine will grow
And with God's love, their hearts will swell

I finally pray I'll dream of you
And all the wound'rous things you've done
And then I'll wake with strength anew
Beneath a fresh and blessed sun
