A free verse poem written on the go for Rhonda & Wayne

A chapter in the book Prayers for Wayne, Rhonda's Husband

Blue Skies

by Heather Knight

your life and mine are so different,
i was born a city girl,
have only seen Texas farms on telly,
'but what does it matter?', you say.

and you are so right, dear Rhonda,
what matters is that we are both alive,
with our problems and joys,
sunny days and black skies.

Wayne will be back home soon,
and you'll be able to smile.
back to normal life with your family,
sharing lunch and dinnertime.

God is looking after you,
he looks after all of us,
and even when you don't notice,
he embraces you at night.

NOTE. I haven't promoted this poem, so you don't need to review. The reason is I felt I needed to write it, but right now I don't have time to review myself.

Dear Rhonda & Wayne,

When I say I've written this poem on the go, I don't mean it's not important to me. It's the way I do things.

Even though we hardly know each other, I'd like to offer some comfort and prayers, because, after all, we all live on the same Earth and are human. As I told you before, life has a way of taking us by surprise. But we can always keep on going. You sound like a tough woman and things will get better.

I wish you both the best. Please keep us posted.
