Who i am.

ldentifying my personality

by Snowball30

l have a complex personality-impatient and tempestuous at times, serene at others.
l believe in equality in all things, including gender and race, even in a classless society where those with undeserved privilege do not flourish at the expense of the less fortunate. I am not a die hard socialist or an extremist who goes beyond the boundaries of civilised behaviour in order to achieve his aims, but who believes in justice and fair play and a level playing field for all.

I hate negativity-it is linked with hopelessness and there is no fulfilment without hope.

l want a companion who is warm hearted and has a caring kindly nature with a sense of humour. An animal lover, because anyone who loves animals cannot be all bad! l want a free spirit, not bound by convention but always interested in trying new methods and is receptive to new ideas. l want someone with whom l can have an interesting converstion but who is not a constant chatterbox. She needs to enjoy mutual silences and periods of quietness and tranquillity. Hopefully she will share my interests in reading, writing, gardening and have similar political views. Travel, too, though my own is much curtailed these days because of age and health reasons. Thank goodness for travel books and televised documentaries.

I believe that one cannot stop learning. l still have a natural curiosity about everything, though l am somewhat of a cynic in that l do not accept everything l am being told and need the facts proven.

l like history because the lessons of the past can teach us many things about the present and the future. l like geography. Apart from showing me the wonders of the natural world it teaches me about the different cultures and how people live. l like archeology and genealogy--the origins of homo sapiens and different animal species and the part evolution has changed them. l love language and can savour the taste of words in my mouth. l am fascinated  by the development of modern idioms and how much speech has changed over the years.

Lastly, l consider myeelf a humanist. I do not believe in an immortal God.and rely on my own coscience to behave honourably. Science is much more logical and believable than any book of religion. l live by a moral code-do unto other others what you hope they will do to you, treat you with respect and kindness. Violence and abuse is inexcusable and not a solution for anything.  That does not mean that I am always prepared to turn the other cheek. Disagreements have be settled by debate but crime of any nature cannot be rewarded or allow the perpetrator to escape punishment,
