The absolute Master of Horror

His writing can take you away to worlds

Of real and fictional nightmares

His stories make us turn an eye

To see our inner monsters

Carrie deals with her bullies

Cujo is a rabid dog

'Salem's Lot is a vampire town

Christine is a possessed, evil car

The Shining takes us to a haunted hotel

Where topiary bushes run astray

Apt Pupil and Mr. Mercedes

Introduce us to the minds of psychopaths

The Dark Half shows our doppleganger

Our purely evil twin built in

His characters are so realistic

You feel the bumps in the night are real

Seek him out and give him a read

Then turn off the lights ~ if you dare

Stephen King has been my favorite author since a good friend introduced me to Christine back in middle school. When the schools began removing books, I had a wonderful teacher who loaned me her copies of his books to read, as I couldn't get enough of his wonderful stories. Today, I have a copy of every book and movie of his that is available.
