Falling Over The Edge Of Sleep

dancing with the rising moon
as the breeze blows around me willow leaves fall into the river — I watch clouds float lazily amidst flying midnight-ravens I cast a rock of time into the creek and watch it drown ... uncomplaining with the heavy weight of being — the flowing stream's susurrus carry gurgling rainbow trout I dream of you with flirtatious flaming passion — rebelling against dawn as it pushes blue shadows I fall over the edge of sleep  |

Gogyohka is a five-line free-style Japanese poetic form with no strict rules on syllable count but as brief as possible. Any theme. Lines are grammatically connected. Alliteration, personification, and metaphor are okay but never rhyme. Japanese poets have written gogyohka since the 1910s.
